Good lock, slow shipping

I ordered a Level Lock Touch Edition in satin nickel. The lock itself is high quality and was pretty easy to install, even for someone like me who isn't super handy. It looks great on the door, really blends in. My main issue was the shipping. It took nearly 8 days to reach me in California, which felt a bit long. Customer support was helpful when I inquired about the delay, but it would be better if shipping was faster. Overall, I'm happy with the lock, just wish it arrived quicker.

Level Lock+ is fantastic!

I bought the Level Lock+ with Apple Home Key and I just love it! The installation was surprisingly easy, and it really is invisible, which is so cool. Using my iPhone to unlock the door is super convenient. My old lock broke, so I needed a replacement fast. This was perfect. Will definitely shop here again for another lock for the back door!

hey, was looking at the Level Lock+ and it looks pretty sweet. but like, how much of a pain is it to actually put in? i'm not super handy, worried about messing up my door.

S Steve G. 2 months ago
Nah, it's not bad at all. I got the Touch Edition and followed their video, took me maybe 20 minutes. Just need a screwdriver basically.

Yeah, if your door is standard, it's usually a pretty smooth install. They have a compatibility checker on the site you should probably use first though, just to be sure.

Just curious, does anyone know if Level usually does anything for Father's Day? Thinking of getting one for my dad.

D Derek Vargas 2 months ago
They totally do! Got my Level Bolt last year during a Father's Day sale, saved like 40 bucks I think.

Yeah, they often have sales around holidays like that. Keep an eye on their site, or sign up for their newsletter, sometimes you get an early heads-up.

Saw they had a Black Friday sale last year. Do they usually do a Cyber Monday one too, or is it just the one big holiday sale?

D David Beaumont 1 month ago
They usually do both! Sometimes Cyber Monday has even better deals, or a slightly different bundle offering.

M Mike Z. 1 month ago
Yeah, they definitely participate in both. I'd keep an eye out for both dates if you're looking for a deal.

can you still use your actual key if the battery dies or something? seems important.

N Noor Foster 2 months ago
Totally. That's one of the best parts. It still functions as a regular deadbolt with a key, so you're never locked out.

T Tom Doyle 1 month ago
Yep, it uses your existing key cylinder. So, manual key override is always an option, which is a huge relief.

Are these locks genuinely 'invisible'? Like, can you really not tell there's a smart lock in there from the outside?

N Nina Torres 2 months ago
Pretty much! From the outside, it just looks like a regular deadbolt. All the techy stuff is inside the door.

Yeah, that's their whole thing. My neighbors had no idea I had a smart lock until I told them. It's wild.

Does Level actually work with Apple Home Key? that's a big selling point for me.

B Beth 1 month ago
Only the Level Lock+ supports Apple Home Key directly. The others don't, just a heads up.

C Chris 1 month ago
Yep, my Lock+ totally works with it. It's super convenient just tapping my phone or watch. Love it.

Thinking about getting a Level Lock but also looking at August. Anyone have experience with both, or know how they compare?

D David J. 1 month ago
I switched from August to Level. August was okay, but I hated how bulky it looked on the inside. Level is way more discreet and feels more premium.

K Kate 1 month ago
Level is definitely more about the 'invisible' aspect. August just covers your existing deadbolt thumbturn, so it's visible. Functionality wise they're both good for smart home stuff, depends if aesthetics matter to you.

how's the battery life on these? i don't want to be changing batteries every other month.

B Ben 2 months ago
Mine's been going strong for almost a year now on the original battery. It uses a CR2 battery, which is kinda small but lasts surprisingly long.

L Lisa 2 months ago
I think they say like 6 months to a year, depending on use. I've had my Bolt for 8 months and haven't changed it yet.
